Political Activism as Leadership - Webinar 2

Political Activism as Leadership - November 19, 2019 - 7pm-8pm

Get ready to harness your legislative and political power. You don’t have to be an elected official to be a political leader. This month, we will discuss the power that women have in electing pro-worker leaders. Women can exercise that power by coming together to volunteer, contributing to campaigns and showing up to vote. We will cover the barriers women face when running for office and discuss how women can help each other overcome these obstacles. Finally, guest speakers Jacqui Carmona, political director of Florida Council 79, and Mary Blocker-Williams, Region 1 PEOPLE Chair at Council 79 in Florida, will join us in a live, online panel discussion about how being active in politics has a direct connection to your life and your union contract.
